Put the calculator on your website
Importers, car sellers, blogs and news sites: paste one snippet and your visitors get the real calculator, priced with the same published rates, without leaving your page.
The snippet
Paste this where the calculator should appear. It works in any page builder that accepts custom HTML (WordPress "Custom HTML" block, Wix "Embed code", Squarespace "Code" block, Blogger, Shopify and plain HTML).
<iframe
id="autoimports"
src="https://autoimports.webgen.live/embed/calculator?lang=en"
title="Sri Lanka vehicle import tax calculator"
width="100%" height="900"
style="border:0;max-width:760px"
loading="lazy"></iframe>Preview it: open the embedded calculator.
Options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
?lang=en | si | ta | The language of the calculator: English, Sinhala or Tamil. |
width, height, style | Ordinary iframe attributes. Keep the width at least 320 px. |
| Automatic height | Add the script below and the frame grows with the result, so there is no inner scrollbar. |
<script>
// Optional: make the frame as tall as the calculator, so it never shows a scrollbar
window.addEventListener("message", function (event) {
if (event.origin !== "https://autoimports.webgen.live") return;
if (!event.data || event.data.source !== "autoimports-embed") return;
document.getElementById("autoimports").style.height = event.data.height + "px";
});
</script>Good to know
- The frame always uses the light theme.
- Links inside it open in a new tab. The small "Powered by AutoImports" line under the calculator links back to us: please leave it in place.
- The frame shows the full result. The PDF estimate is a link that opens the same calculation on AutoImports, so nothing personal is asked for inside your page and we set no cookies there.
- Rates update themselves: when a new gazette is published, your page shows the new figures with no change on your side.
- It costs nothing and needs no key. Heavy sites should prefer calling the API with a free key from their own server.
